LeeBo & Nancy McLaughlin, Directors
Lee M.McLaughlin, Jr. was "born and bred" at Camp Maxwelton, and grew under his parent's direction and leadership. A Morehead Scholar, Lee graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later received a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia. As an educator, he has worked in both independent and public schools.
Nancy McLaughlin is a long-time Camp Lachlan camper and counselor. A graduate of Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Nancy has served as "Camp Mother" for both Maxwelton and Lachlan for over 28 years. Mother of three children, she oversees the care and welfare of all the campers and staff.
Lee McLaughlin, III, Head Counselor
Lee McLaughlin, III serves Camp Maxwelton as Head Counselor. Lee grew up at Camp Maxwelton and combines his life-long camp experience and natural leadership to oversee much of the daily program.
A graduate of Episcopal High School and Washington and Lee University, Lee teaches middle school and coaches football and lacrosse at St. Stephen's St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Virginia.
Counselors
Our counselors are chosen carefully, with strong character and well-rounded personality being the major prerequisites. They must know and like camp work, and enjoy working with younger boys. We are fortunate that most of our counselors have been Maxwelton campers.
