Bobo’s

Every Thursday and Sunday our cooks have the night off. In turn, we grill hamburgers for dinner in the horseshoe-shaped cookout area near the house. There’s nothing like a summertime dinner outdoors!

Trip Day

Every Thursday afternoon is trip day. Counselors take groups of campers on special outings. Some hike Jump Mountain, some go to Goshen Pass to swim, a group goes to Lexington to see W&L and VMI and have ice cream, and others might go on a creek walk, a horse hike, an off-trail exploration, or an overnight camp-out on the farm.

Field Day

During the last week, Campers are organized into two teams, Green and White, to compete in a series of morning activity competitions, ball games, track and field competition, swimming relays, and a final “marathon,” an all-camp relay race that winds around the farm from the entrance to the top of the back hill. Cub counselors are the team leaders, and, besides the nonstop FUN, sportsmanship, enthusiasm, best effort, and graceful winning and losing are all important focuses of the day. Even inspection counts!
